PHOTOWALK
Join artist Not Quite Light for a twilight photo-walk, wandering the roads and streets around the market hall, experiencing the magic of twilight. Before heading off, you will be shown simple techniques for using either smartphones or DSLR’s in low light, and how to see and compose pictures as you wander the streets as the day ends, and darkness descends.
The walk will be fun and informal, and take around an hour, starting at 6PM. Everyone is welcome, no matter what photographic experience you have. The artist Not Quite Light is based in Salford and explores the places in which we exist in the half ight of dawn and dusk, using photography, film and audio recording. The Not Quite light project began in Manchester in 2015, and examines themes of transition and regeneration.
The work has lead to several major commissions, including a limited edition book ‘ You Live With Us’ for 5 Plus Architects, ‘Our Future is Ancient’ for the Barnaby Festival and ‘Dark Days, Luminous Nights’ for the Manchester Collective. The Picture 'Rainstorm’ went viral in 2019 after being celebrated on Twitter by Stephen Fry and Derren Brown.
He is also founder and creative director of the award winning Not Quite Light Festival which is staged in Salford . His work has appeared in numerous publications such as Elle, The Observer, Der Spiegel and The Saturday Telegraph Magazine
